FIGHT FOR LAWS THAT CHANGE LIVES
IMPROVED MULTIDISCPLINARY QUALITY OF CARE
We want a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach to hypospadias care, with informed consent that clearly explains the condition, treatment options, timing, potential complications, and which physicians are best equipped to provide care.
We want surgical complication rates disclosed to families before any intervention, and safer, more effective techniques with lower complication rates.
We want more urologists trained in hypospadias repair and for the Urology Boards to establish Centers of Excellence across the U.S. and Canada. We want every child and adult who seeks repair to have access to these quality services.
MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
We want doctors to understand and to explore with families the potential mental health consequences of living with and obtaining surgery for hypospadias.
We want to provide parents with resources that help them talk to their kids about their condition.
We want to provide a private and secure network of peer to peer support groups for boys affected by hypospadias/epispadias, and support groups for parents as well, so that no one feels alone.
MORE DILIGENCE
We want urologists to follow their patients long term, monitor their outcomes, and adjust their techniques as needed based on the latest evidence.
